It was a case of young love for the Danica Barrett and Jack Garforth, who met when they were just 16 years old. A love that blossomed into adulthood, the London based duo knew they were destined to be together. Over their earlier years together, the pair developed a love for Ireland, with Danica’s parents both being from Co. Kerry, the beautiful bride was blessed with summers spent in one of the country’s most beautiful counties. Popping the question there was a given for Jack.  “Jack took me to Kerry for a surprise weekend for our 12th anniversary and proposed outside the church in Lixnaw where Danica was christened and where my parents and grandparents were married”, Danica shared.

August 25, 2018 was set for their amazing Irish nuptials and there was no question as to which region the couple would say ‘I do’ in, the bride’s parents home county on their very own wedding date. Capturing their special day perfectly at Ballyseede Castle was high on Danica and Jacks’ list of priorities and Tara and Dave of Tara Donoghue Photography met their expectations and more. “Tara and Dave made everyone feel so comfortable and were not intrusive at all.  We had a great laugh with them on the day.  We highly recommend them!”, the bride said.

Irish people are renowned worldwide for their hospitality and warm nature and Danica and Jack found that it was those things that set their wedding apart.

“Everyone in Ireland is so friendly and welcoming.  You can’t beat the sense of humour either!  Our guests absolutely loved their time in Kerry and they are already planning their return – some even suggested a reunion for our first anniversary!”, Danica shared.

With themselves and their guests having thoroughly enjoyed their time in Ireland, the bride has some must- see sights in Co. Kerry. “Having been to Kerry before, we would definitely recommend Killarney National Park and Dingle.  It’s just beautiful and so easy to get to! We spent a night in Killarney at the beginning as we had to meet with the Registrar but after that we just spent the time with family.  Guests started arriving the Wednesday before, so our time was taken up seeing people and finalising the last little bits for the wedding.  The day after the wedding we arranged for more music and food at The Meadowlands Hotel in Tralee.  The celebrations went on for days!”

We decided to get married in Ireland because we absolutely love it there.  It is very laid back and it is beautiful.
