Finding a venue that ticks all the boxes for two combined cultures is not always an easy task. High on the criteria for Vietnamese beauty Lan Phuong Tang and Irish born Terence Fisher, finding the perfect venue in Ireland was essential.

Due to their families being from different sides of the world and being based in London  themselves, Lan and Terence decided to have a wedding both in Ireland and in Vietnam, so that members of both families could share in their joy. With an abundance of choice for a beautiful wedding venue in Ireland, they decided to visit a few venues but one in particular ticked all the boxes for their dream Irish wedding.

“We fell in love with Kilshane House as soon as we saw it and knew immediately we wanted to get married there. We visited a lot of venues in Ireland, ranging from hotels to country houses and we fell in love with Kilshane’s charm as soon as we drove down the lane leading to the house. There is no place that really can compete, in terms of practicality”, Lan said.

The beautiful Orangery at Kilshane House and the lake also on site, meant that there was a stunning option for the wedding to take place, no matter what the weather. Thankfully, the Irish sun was on their side and the couple said ‘I do’ next to the lake joined by their loved ones. Aside from the breath-taking landscape, the food and service and Kilshane House allowed for the day to go seamlessly, making guests from both cultures feel totally at home.

“The staff were very attentive and professional. The wedding coordinator at Kilshane literally helped us every step of way. My family felt really at home the whole time. The food was amazing, again another really important factor. Both the canapés and wedding meals were absolutely beyond this world. They were not only tasty but presented at a fine dining level. Our guests are still talking about it to this day. We had a three-day wedding, so the first day we had hog roast on the spit, definitely recommending this, it had the wow factor and tasted heavenly. Kilshane was a combination of charm, possibilities and amazing catering. We had the best day of our lives thanks to the Kilshane team.”

With their dream Irish wedding complete and embedded in their cherished memories forever, it has given the glowing newlyweds time to reflect on their day and consider some advice they would offer to other couples planning their big day in Ireland.

“As my family are from Vietnam, they all needed Visas to come to the wedding. Getting these arranged was the most stressful part, particularly since the visas only arrived the morning they were flying over! It was such a relief and it put things into perspective for us as we realised as long as our friends and families made it to the wedding, that’s all that mattered”, Lan said.
